Well good morning It's 10 o'clock Welcome to all of you and to those of you who are normally in Brother Fulton's building on Jesus class We can build on Jesus in here too for this week if you don't mind and then you can go back to the other one And keep building We're going to be in second Kings chapter 19 and verse 14 Second Kings chapter 19 and verse 14 that was our stopping place last week While you're turning there Did any of you see the video of Brother Danny Dietz being baptized? Yeah, Brother Fulton posted that on Facebook and in case you didn't catch the audio just before They were at a hotel where they did this and just before Brother Danny said see here is a swimming pool What does hinder me to be baptized and Brother Fulton said if thou believe us with all thine heart thou mayest Now he'll get a kick out of that on the other end That's not what he said, but Praise God Let's read verse 14 again, and then we'll pick up we're in second Kings chapter 19 verse 14 and Everybody brother Brandon put the camera on the audience if you can and tell me when you've got that done. Give me a thumbs up All right, everybody say hi to our brothers and sisters in Kentucky All right, and we're glad they're going to get to worship with us this morning and Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers and read it and Hezekiah went up into the house of the Lord and spread it before the Lord And that's where we were last week Hezekiah the king of Judah had taken a threatening letter from the king of Assyria and spread it before the Lord in the house of the Lord and We learned that spreading a matter before the Lord is the only sure way To be delivered from our enemy from our troubles When the children of Israel were in bondage in Egypt Israel was a bunch of sinners who could not free themselves from the Pharaoh's clutches and in our current study the people in Judah Were also a bunch of sinners who could not deliver themselves from the formidable? Assyrian king and his army and I told you last week that we would look at a great lesson from those passages we read about Moses against Egypt and about Hezekiah against Assyria and Judah in our text was in sin just like Egypt was just like Israel was when they were in Egypt and Assyria was trying to bring Judah into captivity just as they had done their sister nation called Samaria or the northern kingdom and He the Assyrian king wanted to treat Judah just like the Pharaoh wanted to treat the children of Israel as his own captives as his own subjects and King Hezekiah the king of Judah was powerless to free Judah from this impending captivity So he did what we read about last weekend today. He spread the matter before the Lord Remember Moses was powerless to stop the hail of judgment that was coming down upon Egypt So he spread his hands abroad unto the Lord and that's the same Hebrew word as we're looking at here for spreading the matter before the Lord Now mankind today, here's the lesson we want to take away from this at least one lesson Mankind today is also in sin just like Egypt just like Israel just like Judah and Over the course of history Sinful man has sought every means possible to free himself from the bondage of sin Man has tried drugs to change the way he feels He's tried atheism to keep himself from being held accountable to a supreme being He's tried entertainment to make himself feel happy Even though none of those things can deliver him from the condemnation for his unbelief man is even tried religions that mimic But fall short of the pure undefiled religion of the Bible But when man spreads this great Overwhelming matter of his condemnation because we're all condemned sinners were born condemned sinners When he spreads that to the Lord Then that is when he realizes the Lord's the only one Who can deliver him from the judgment that's in front of him? Just like the Assyrians were in front of Judah and they were about to try to conquer them and in Egypt Spreading his hands to the Lord was Moses recognition that I can't stop this hail But God can and God did By the way, isn't it wonderful? that a powerful Gentile Pharaoh Had to rely upon a Jewish intercessor To cause God to cease the judgment from the hail that Who we have to rely on as a Jewish intercessor? To cease the judgment to take the judgment for us And that's what Jesus did But from the condemnation of sin man can neither fight nor run but what he may do is spread his dilemma before the Lord and when he does Then he can completely trust in what God has done for him He can look away from the Assyrians Yes, the Assyrians were still at the gate of Judah of Jerusalem wanting to conquer Judah and Rather than standing there and twiddling his thumbs or fretting about the matter Has a kayah turned his back on that and he took it to the Lord and spread it before the Lord in the house of the Lord Man Has to look away from all the attempts he's made to absolve himself Of sin that's what the false religions try to do tell you well You have to do this and you've got to do this and say this and you have to be serious now You can't be playing around and then you begin wondering well was I was I serious enough was I sincere enough? The use of drugs and entertainment and other distractions False religions trying to make something go away that can't go away That's what mankind has done Ever since he was created But it's only when a person rests and that's the key rests His eternal hope in the one before whom he spread out the problem of his condemnation That he can be saved the problem of Satan and sin and death Won't go away on their own But when you spread the matter before the Lord, that's just another way of saying Lord I'm I'm giving this to you. I rest in what you've said about your son Such a person Who has spread their matter before the Lord can then believe? the record that God gave of his son that he died for sinners and That he was buried and rose again for their justification and that same Jesus Who went up to be with his father shall so come again in like manner to take his people to be with him So friend of you spread your matter of your sin before the Lord there are a lot of people in church who have not Whether it be in here or online or people in that church or that one down there or across the world Or are you still struggling with your own brand of religion? Your rituals or your false hope that you in your own strength can please a holy God What about you Christian? Perhaps you're a believer. You're a Christian is there some sin you're trying to conquer and Yet you've not spread that matter before the Lord Maybe you thought well, I don't want to bother God with that or I'm too embarrassed to go to God Listen, he already knows everything about you You haven't spread that matter before the Lord well, how do I do that brother Andy? How do I do like he's a chi and spread this problem before the Lord? This is very easy you just trust what God's Word says about it Have you even looked at what the Bible says about your particular sin if there's something you're struggling with How can you spread your matter before the Lord if you don't dare find out what his word says about it? We hold truth right here in our hands don't we or on our phones however you brought it in today But we have the truth We don't have to go to a Jewish temple to spread our matters before the Lord like has a chi did No, we are so blessed because we have a Bible we can go for the answer right here Has a chi sent his messengers to ask to tell the matter to Isaiah and to try to get an answer From Isaiah the word of the Lord. We don't have to do that. We've got the word right here in front of us And our Bible Contains the mind of the Lord For every area of our lives so to spread your matter before the Lord Christian is to Seek the truth from his word and then apply it You might say well. I've heard that before is it that simple well It's actually very difficult to do in the flesh, but the the matter itself is simple. What does God's Word say about it do that? Do you know how people often go about this? They're like a man who's digging a hole around him and at first the man digs the hole around him and He can easily step out of it It's no trouble at all doesn't need any help from anyone So he such a person may reason well sin doesn't have any consequences. I'm not that deep into it I can quit anytime I want Some foolish man once said he'd been doing cocaine for 15 years, and he still wasn't hooked He's so far down in the hole he doesn't even realize it And after a while The man is digging the hole and he's so deep in there. He can't reach the top of it anymore with his hand He can't jump out What's the first thing he has to do now want you to think of digging that hole as the sin He's got to stop digging that's the first thing stop digging I cannot help an alcoholic Unless he lays that bottle down and is at least sober enough for a little while to comprehend the next step What did Jesus tell the woman who was caught in adultery there in John chapter 8 after he'd run her accusers off saying he that is without sin among you let him first cast a stone at her and They all dropped their rocks and left well Jesus told this woman in John chapter 8 verses 10 through 11 When Jesus had lifted up himself and saw none, but the woman he said unto her woman Where are those thine accusers hath no man condemn thee? She said no man Lord and Jesus said unto her neither do I condemn thee go and sin no more Now Was that all there was to her problem? Just don't do that what you did again. No she had a lot of other problems She had many sins to be dealt with that led up to that in the first place Her thoughts and her desires were unclean weren't they? She was no doubt slack in reading the scriptures Prayer giving and so on her acts are of adultery were worth death They were punishable by death But Jesus told her go and sin no more in other words to go back to our example stop digging You can't spread your sin before the Lord if you're going to continue in it you can't say well now My preacher said I did wrong so Lord here it is But knowing in your heart you have no intention to step away from it How is that spreading a matter before the Lord to simply hear what the word of the Lord says about it? But to say I'm not going to stop digging One of the problems with the modern false churches is That they have redefined sin to fit their own moral standards And as you know those moral standards change and change and they will keep changing and their statement of faith Will in many cases say they believe in one God? They believe in his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and they believe that Jesus died for the sins of the world however They'll deny that homosexuality is a sin or that polygamy is sinful and so on and The problem with doing that is you have not agreed with what God's Word said about it And if you don't agree with what God's Word says about it, then you're calling him a liar So you can't spread your matter before the Lord on one hand on the other hand redefined what sin is First John chapter 1 verses 8 through 10 if you're taking notes first John chapter 1 verses 8 through 10 If we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves now, that's what the false church does they say that's not a sin That's not really a sin. That's not what God meant No, Jesus would never judge somebody for this thing or that thing That's the first thing they do is redefine sin He said if we say that we have no sin now that sin according to what the Bible says We deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness If we say that we have not sinned We make him a liar in other words. We are calling God a liar and his word is not in us So when we spread our matter before the Lord like Hezekiah did we are binding ourselves? Not only to hear what God's Word says about it But to do what God's Word says about it James chapter 1 verses 22 through 24 But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only deceiving your own selves For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer He is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass For he beholdeth himself and goeth his way and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was He doesn't even remember what he looked like Somebody who hears God's Word says well that I heard it. I know what it says But I'm not gonna do it You're just like somebody who looked in a mirror and went away, and you forgot what you even look like That's the example So when Hezekiah spread this letter from the king of Assyria before the Lord He was binding himself to not only what God God's Word says about it But he was binding himself to do What God told him to do? Let's go back to the man in the hole He stopped digging He listened to what God's Word said about it. He stopped digging Jesus told that woman go and sin no more stop digging, but now The man needs to come out of the hole He put his shovel down. He said all right. I'm done with that Has he solved all of his problems? Oh, no the mindset that got him down there in the first place the carnal desires the rebellion from God either the willful or The willful ignorance of God's Word is what it was he's without excuse He stopped doing something that was harmful, but he can't just stay in the hole He's got to do something to get out of the hole He needs someone to help him doesn't he? So along comes a good Samaritan Like a pastor a teacher another Christian and lets a strong rope down in the hole and Taking a hold of that rope and either climbing out or being pulled out are the actions he must take He's got to lay hold of that rope Now suppose he just looks at that rope, but he won't take hold of it He knows what it's there for But he says I'm not gonna grab a hold of it He's just like a man who looks at himself in the mirror and goes away straight way forgetting what manner of man he was He's been a hearer of the words stop digging go and sin no more But he's not been a doer of the words come out from among them and be separate sayeth the Lord touch not the unclean thing and if hezekiah spreads the matter before the Lord and He hears what the word of the Lord says but he doesn't do what the Lord tells him to do That he's going to be no better than the man who looked in the mirror and walked away and forgot what manner of man he was and this reminds me so much of The many church leaders who have fallen into sin in our area. I live up in the Metroplex and Boy, I'll tell you it's every week And in one church now they've had three pastors resign Not the pastor and then the next one who was up and then one of their I think he was a youth leader of some type It It's been big news and if you listen to or read the words of their sermons They'll tell you what God's word says about sin They also hear those words themselves But when they hear them and preach them if they don't do them They haven't truly spread their matter before the Lord They're like the men who've looked in the mirror and forgotten what manner of men they were and it appears that In almost all of the cases it may be every one of them, but some of them are intentionally vague about their sin But it appears that almost all of those cases had to do with sexual sin and at least one sexual assault of a child And do you know what every one of those fallen religious leaders lacked? Let's talk about What happened before the man even started digging the hole? Those false religious leaders lacked a strong biblical marriage every one of them When a pastor has a strong biblical marriage I didn't say perfect because we got a sinner married to a sinner, right? But when a pastor has a strong biblical marriage when you have a strong biblical marriage if you are married Or if you're going to get married It is because he has submitted that marriage to the Lord He spread his marriage before the Lord He's not only submitted himself to the Lord but also his wife and his wife has submitted herself to the Lord Some of those pastors Make a lot of money They have a great following they have the opportunity to reach millions of people Both in their services and in their internet ministries and their television ministries which some of them have and Although we have the great opportunity here to reach people across the world through the internet, and I'm very thankful for it We have a smaller building than those big churches, and we have a lot smaller crowd than those big churches But I wouldn't trade my situation for that of any of those preachers Who have fallen into sexual sin? And specifically here speaking of my own marriage I've been with my wife we've been married 31 years coming up on 32 And we were engaged a year before that and by the grace of God. I have never cheated on her How many of those pastors can say that They don't have a strong biblical marriage because that's what prevents all of these other problems with with a marriage and I know that Satan would love to destroy my marriage He's tried it and he's tried to destroy yours too and in some cases He succeeded a lot of us are recuperating from those old wounds aren't we I grew up in a family of? divorced parents and divorced again parents and I love my parents, but it caused a lot of damage to me, and it did to some of you, too So I pray that God would always help me to spread my marriage before the Lord and to trust him Not only trust what he says about the marriage between a husband and a wife, but to do it his way Judah under the leadership of a king who has spread the Assyrian letter before the Lord is About to be told what to do that is just as important. Here's what God's word says here's what you need to do about it But first their king does another thing That comes with spreading a matter before the Lord and this is crucial he prays Now before we look at his prayer Let's remember that Hezekiah was a king who honored the Lord this wasn't the first time He had sought the Lord about something affecting Judah He knew what God's word said about the temple and how things were supposed to be done there When he first sat on the throne And we read this when we study the beginning of Hezekiah's reign, but I'll remind you there in 2 Chronicles Now we're in 2 Kings, but this is recorded in 2 Chronicles 29 verse 5 And this is what Hezekiah the king said to the Levite to the priest and said unto them hear me ye Levites sanctify now yourselves and Sanctify the house of the Lord God of your fathers and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place Boy, that would preach right there the last part of that carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place If I could go to every church that's struggling It's having trouble and I don't mean they're necessarily in financial trouble I mean they're in trouble because one member after another one pastor after another is falling into sin and The lives are being ruined and people are being deceived if I could preach one message to them if I had one shot It would be carry away the filthiness out of the holy place And replace that with the gospel of Jesus Christ get rid of all that stuff The gospel of Jesus Christ is what you need Hezekiah honored God's Word. He didn't just hear it and not do it. In fact our introduction to him back in 2nd Kings 18 verses 5 through 6 Says this about him He trusted in the Lord God of Israel so that after him was none Like him among all the kings of Judah nor any that were before him Do you realize that made him greater than King David? then Solomon For he clave unto the Lord and Departed not from following him but kept his commandments Which the Lord commanded Moses? Now I read that Because I want you to see what kind of man this was who was about to pray to the Lord This was a man who was going to pray according to God's Word Rather than according to his own wishes Or the wishes of the carnal people of Judah or even after the tradition of his fathers Now let's examine his prayer and learn from it how we also are supposed to pray You know if I thought about teaching How we're supposed to pray I could very well go to the model prayer that most people have memorized If they were in church at all our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name And that's a wonderful prayer of course it is But we're going to learn in our own text right here how to pray so Look with me there in verse 15 if you've just joined us Or if you've just awakened in here is 2nd Kings chapter 19 verse 15 and Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and Said Oh Lord God of Israel which dwellest between the cherubims thou art the God Even thou alone of all the kingdoms of the earth thou has made heaven and earth And just as a side note here You have read that phrase between the cherubims which dwellest between the cherubims One of the many reasons that we have you go through the Genesis to Jesus class and the building on Jesus class And so you're exposed to some of those things. It's not in depth because that's not the purpose of the class So that when we go into a little depth in here You say I've heard of that. I recognize that I remember that and That's what? discipleship is all about is taking those who have the foundation those who Hopefully have become Christians at some point During that teaching or after that teaching and then building upon that foundation that you have So let's look at this first part of the prayer he says Oh Lord God of Israel now in your Bible the word Lord should be in all caps and This is the way it was translated from the word Jehovah So when you see Lord capital all caps lord That is Jehovah and Jehovah is the self existing one. In other words, nobody created God He has always existed and so his name is Jehovah He has many names by which he is called but that teaches us about the attribute of God's eternal Existence he always has been and so when you pray in this manner as Has a kayah did You're acknowledging that God is Self-existing which means he is also eternal That means he's not going to disappear off the scene for you He always hears your prayer and You're agreeing that he is high above in every way and that you depend on him After all he made man and not only is he self-existing and eternal and high above us as the name Jehovah teaches But he also is God. He said Oh Lord God of Israel Now the word God here the name God is Elohim and I know you were exposed to that before and Elohim is the plural of L. L is God Elohim would be Plural now that doesn't mean there's more than one God. There's one God That word is a plural word describing a singular God And that is from this name Elohim that we understand the Trinity. So when somebody tells you They say the word Trinity or they say what is the Trinity or do you believe in the Trinity? Well, you won't see the word Trinity in the Bible what you will see very early on is Elohim That is God the Father Son and Holy Spirit the three persons who make up one God and in praying to Elohim Has a kayah is acknowledging that he is praying to God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit Has a kayah prayed to the self-existing triune or Elohim God and now he prays the words of Israel Oh Lord God of Israel now that is Very interesting to me when I saw that I did a double take I'll that wait a minute. This is the king of Judah And remember at this time in history The nation of Israel was divided into two kingdoms the northern kingdom which was called Israel and also Samaria after its capital city and also Ephraim as we've studied the book of Hosea and Then the southern kingdom, which was Judah Now has a kayah is the king of Judah. So why would he call God the God of Israel? This is beautiful When God called Jacob Israel Jacob was one man When God called the children of Israel out of Egypt Israel was one nation and When God gathers the Israel of God, that's all the believers of all time when God gathers the Israel of God back unto himself They will be one people Listen to what the high priest Caiaphas said about Jesus in John chapter 11 verses 49 through 52 John 11 49 through 52 as we learn why has a kayah would say Oh Lord God of Israel and one of them named Caiaphas being the high priest That same year said unto them, you know, nothing at all nor consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people and that the whole nation perished not and This spake he not of himself But being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation and not for that nation only And here it is, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad So when he's a kayah prayed to the Lord God of Judah He prayed Not to the God of Judah He prayed to the Lord God of Israel. That's who he prayed to He didn't say Oh Lord God of Judah, even though he is the God of Judah He prayed Oh Lord God of Israel the God of Israel the God of the Gentiles But the one God who would gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad In Hosea 111 which we've studied a few months ago It says then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together and Appoint themselves one head and they shall come up out of the land for great shall be the day of Jezreel So get this when he's a kayah prayed to the God of Israel, even though he was the king of Judah He prayed to the God who would unite his people as one Even though sin had scattered them abroad This is a prophetic prayer In in his prayer he implies strongly. I know we're Israel and Judah now, but we're gonna be Israel again one day. I Thought that was beautiful Looking back in the prayer now in verse 15 He said Oh Lord God of Israel which dwellest between the cherubs This is very specific and it's very scriptural now to understand what this means Especially to those of you have not studied it before perhaps not everybody in here or everybody online Has studied this before or maybe it's been a while and it's a little rusty Let's find out what that phrase means dwell us between the cherubim's Exodus chapter 25 verses 17 through 22 if you'll just write that down. I'll read it for you Exodus 25 verses 17 through 22 These are the instructions God gave to Moses to Execute his will concerning the temple and all the furnishings He said and thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold Two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof and thou shalt make two Cherubims of gold of beaten work Shout thou make them in the two ends of the mercy seat now you remember the mercy seat set on top of the Ark of the Covenant and these cherubim one on each end would face each other as it will say and make one cherubim on the one end and The other cherubim on the other end even of the mercy seat shall you make the cherubims on the two ends thereof and the Cherubim shall stretch forth their wings on high Covering the mercy seat with their wings and their faces shall look one to another toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim's Be and thou shalt put the mercy seat of above upon the ark and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give Thee here's what I want you to hear Think about Hezekiah's prayer. He said Oh Lord that dwellest between the cherubims God said to Moses and there That is on the mercy seat between the cherubims and there I will meet with thee and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat from between the two cherubims Which are upon the ark of the testimony of all things which I will give thee in commandment in under the children of Israel and remember in The Garden of Eden after man's sin God placed cherubims To the east of the garden to guard the way of the tree of life So cherubims were guardians So their position on the mercy seat was as though they were guarding the mercy seat the Specifically the holiness of God now God doesn't need anyone to guard his holiness He's perfectly capable of doing that himself but this was the image he gave to put on the mercy seat to be an object lesson to the children of Israel and also to us and Above the mercy seat which was between the cherubims was where God Would commune with the children of Israel through a high priest So when Hezekiah prayed in his prayer to the Lord God of Israel which dwellest between the cherubims He was praying to the one true God Who meets with his people where he said he would meet with them and in the manner? He said he would meet with them Now when we pray we may not say oh Lord God of Israel which dwellest between the cherubims We don't have to say those words But that's the God to whom we're praying The one who dwelled between the cherubims the same one to whom Hezekiah Prayed what Hezekiah was doing in his prayer is he was verbalizing scriptural truth about the Lord and Showing that he was praying to God according to the truth of who God was and that is critical when you pray You're praying to God according to the truth of who he is These people and maybe you've said this before I would discourage you from doing it But these people who go yeah, I'm gonna let Jesus take the wheel for a while or yeah God's my co-pilot all these little sayings that are meaningless They're cute sayings. I guess people think they're cute. I don't God is holy That's who I'm praying to I'm not praying to some figure that sometimes drives and sometimes right as a shotgun I'm praying to the one who made all things just like Hezekiah So when we pray to the Lord we are to pray in acknowledgement Of the truth that he is declared about himself Now we may begin praying by saying Oh merciful father Psalm chapter 126 verse 36 tells me that that's scriptural Psalm 126 verse 36 because it says Oh give thanks to the God of heaven for his mercy endureth forever So if I pray Oh merciful father I'm praying just as scripturally and truly about God or to God as Hezekiah did when he said Oh Lord God of Israel which dwellest between the cherubim's The Bible tells us he's merciful So I pray merciful father the Bible tells us that he dwelt between the cherubim's so Hezekiah prayed Lord God of Israel which dwellest between the cherubim's Furthermore look down in the prayer. He said in the middle of verse 15 Thou art the God even thou alone Hezekiah Proclaimed God in his prayer not only as the self-existing one Not only as the great three in one Not only the God of Israel, but also that he was the God Even he alone You remember the Assyrian king claimed to be more powerful than the gods of all the nations the God of Sephora am and have a and all of these Gentile countries And yet Hezekiah told God Thou art the God His prayer totally discounted the existence of any other God In fact, he gets even more specific about God being the only God Looking back in the prayer. It says of All the kingdoms of the earth Thou art the God even thou alone of all the kingdoms of the earth So not only is he is the only God But he is the God of all the kingdoms of the earth So those other gods that were mentioned as having their own lands their own nations Were nothing more than dumb idols It's all they were they had no power They couldn't speak they couldn't hear And it was pretty easy to destroy them You just get a ball peen hammer or a hot fire going and their gods were no more Now we'll See why hezekiah can make the claim That God alone is the God and his over all the nations look at the next part of the prayer He says thou has made heaven and earth So here in his prayer has a kaya among all of the other truths he is acknowledged he acknowledges he embraces that God is the creator of heaven and earth and Of course by right the creator rules over his creation He has that ability in that right When the teacher has the students in her class draw a picture What does she have them put up there at the top right hand or top left hand depending on what the teacher's preference is their name and a date and Maybe something else but the name has to go up there So when she grades or displays that picture she can say this is Allison's see your name right there and Whenever the display or the grading is done. Where does that picture go back to is it go to Doug? Goes back to Allison. It was Allison's picture. She created it. She has the right to take it back not Doug not me so God by right has a Authority over all that he created that includes over sennacherib and That includes over the false gods of the nations which as we know are not God's Well when you remember even if you don't say it aloud when you remember in your prayer that God created everything You know that simplifies things or it should When you pray to the God who made heaven and earth Why would you be afraid of what man can do to you? Mankind has to have permission to do anything at all So God's totally in control of What happens? When you go into your prayer as Hezekiah did remembering that This matter I'm spreading before the Lord was already known to him He is the only God there's no one else to go to There are no other gods he created all things and all people and He's got this under control so when I take it to him I can leave it with him When I look at what his word says and I do what his word says I don't need to worry about whether there's something else I'm supposed to do And I'll close with this The devil and his crowd have used many strategies to shoot this truth out of the saddle that God created heaven and earth That he created all things To believe in a cosmic explosion that somehow resulted in orderly creation. You cannot believe in the God who made heaven and earth To believe men came from monkeys. You cannot believe in the God who made heaven and earth and If man came from monkeys, by the way, why do we still have monkeys? Gabriel knew that he was already answering it with me. That's right In his prayer Hezekiah spoke about the very first truth that we learned in the Bible the very first one Genesis 1 1 in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and John the Apostle enlarged upon that in John chapter 1 verse 3 He said all things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made And I like that I can take my prayer to the God who created all things and with that we'll close and Pick up with verse 16 next week Father thank you so much for the good attention given to your word and Lord we're thankful for the ones who were able to join us by way of the Internet and Lord we pray for the Saints to be edified in the Word of God strengthened in their faith and Lord for the ones who are lost to come to the cross and rest in what Jesus did and Lord we thank you that our pastor is able to Preach to our brothers and sisters there in Kentucky and also to us by way of the Internet So we pray there wouldn't be any technical problems That on both ends we'd get a full hearing of the matter today as he teaches your word Give us listening hearts and let us not be distracted or removed from that which we came here for today and we'll praise you for it in Jesus name, Amen.
