It's 10 o'clock And we were ready to start already, but it just doesn't sound as cool if I say it's 959 does it? Nobody would like that So I wait until 10 o'clock Second Kings chapter 19 and verse 2 is where we begin this morning second Kings chapter 19 and verse 2 We completed verse 1 last week the king of Judah Hezekiah has been threatened by a formidable enemy the Assyrians and He's heard the mockery of his kingdom the mockery of his Lord and This week we find him already in the Lord's house as we studied last week His clothes are torn And outwardly he looks like a pitiful case I Can just imagine him with his clothes ripped and in the Lord's house and in despair and? although he looks pitiful on the outside on the inside He has the calm assurance that the Lord God will answer his prayer So there's a lesson to take away for you It doesn't matter what you look like on the outside on the inside Is what matters do you have the calm assurance that the Lord's in control of all things in your life and if you do That settles the case When the Lord assigned the prophet Samuel To select a king from among Jesse's sons there in first Samuel chapter 16 verse 7 I Want you to listen to the instructions he gave to Samuel. It's in first Samuel 16 7 But the Lord said unto Samuel look not on his countenance That's his face his appearance or on the height of his stature Because I have refused him For the Lord seeeth not as man seeth For man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart Now King has a cayas outward appearance with his clothes torn and in the house of the Lord That outward appearance was not designed to impress God or man either one. He wasn't trying to impress anyone his outwardly rent clothes Were the sign of an inwardly rent heart his torn clothes Were a signal of his torn heart torn clothes don't mean you have a torn heart But that was why he did that it was not uncommon at all in Fact sometimes it was commanded as David commanded the people when Abner died He said For them to wear that sackcloth to rent their clothes and so forth And God's not impressed with outward appearance anyway But he pays great attention to what goes on in the heart of man He doesn't need anyone to tell him what's in the heart of man That's what Jesus said he needed not that any man testify of What was in man because he knew what was in him? But in the Lord pays great attention to that and hessicaiah's heart was broken For Israel for Judah But his heart was full of faith in the God of Israel and Judah. I Feel that same way about the United States Just in my short life the degenerate Condition that we have come to and we're not done yet where it's going to get worse the Bible tells us it is So if you're an in-time harvest believer thinking oh everything's going to turn around and be just wonderful before the Lord comes That's not what the Bible says But although the United States has Largely rejected the Lord and as broken as my heart and probably yours is too about the United States I have a calm assurance that the God who allowed the United States to be what it is Is in full control? And while the king was in the Lord's house There's something else he would do as well So let's look at verse 2 in our text 2nd Kings 19 verse 2 and it says this about hessicaiah and he sent Eliakim which was over the household and Shebna the scribe and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amos While in the house of the Lord these trusted Representatives of Judah whom we studied about last week Were sent to the prophet Isaiah Now normally if the leader of a country sent ambassadors to anyone to the Pope to the president of Hungary or to the Dali Lama or whoever they may send them to those ambassadors are going to be dressed fit to kill aren't they? They're gonna Have the appearance of an ambassador if you will well, that's not how hessicaiah Sent these three men to Isaiah He sent them not in their royal court attire, but in sackcloth When you see a person wearing sackcloth in the Bible it is often associated with morning mo you are in ing not the time of day, but morning grieving In fact in Genesis chapter 37 verse 34 We see that connection between sackcloth and morning Genesis 37 34 Says and Jacob rent his clothes and Put sackcloth upon his loins and mourned for his son many days That word morning literally means to walk with the head cast down So if you're telling somebody get your head up it's because their head was down right and So that's what morning literally is or at least the word But it's also translated as the word lament as in the book of lamentations Which is a book of mourning? You know we I remember Talking with Miss Ann in a few years now about whatever I was going to teach on next and she said And I understood what you say she said well if you won't teach on Ecclesiastes She said I'm not sure I need that right now, and I know what she meant Because it was it's about all is vanity vanity vanity And there's a there's a good time and a good place to teach every scripture there are scriptures that we tell people when their loved ones die and scriptures that we don't tell them and So I but I understood and the book of lamentations is the same way. There's a time to teach about mourning the mourning of sin there's a time to teach about rejoicing and God help us to do that always in the right time and in in the right way To do it according to truth and to speak it in love and remember Judah Had many of God's words already written down But they also had a prophet living among them and his name was Isaiah and to this Prophet Isaiah God gave his words as well So they had the words that had been written down by Moses They had the words of the prophets between him and Isaiah and they had the word the living Isaiah who was Continuing to receive from God the words that he would write down and that we get to read When we read both the book of Isaiah and also some of this passage we're reading now So at that time In history, the Bible was not a completed work as man sees it now as God sees it it was already written Before time ever began God's Word has always been the same He didn't say boy, I better come up with something before I create these people his words always been the same We don't really understand that But it wasn't a completed work as there was much more scripture that would be written down after the Prophet Isaiah Now we don't have any Isaiah's today nor should we be looking for any prophets with a so-called new Word of God and Sending these men when Hezekiah sent these men To Isaiah that was his way of seeing what God would say About everything that happened and what God would say about what they need to do Isaiah's words back to Judah Would give them God's judgment on the matter So it was the same as we would do today except we just seek it right from the book where it's written we don't say hey send brother Doug and brother Andy and brother Billy to the Prophet Isaiah and Tell them what this king of Assyria said and see what God wants us to do. It's the same thing So don't think oh if we just had a prophet today Wouldn't matter if we did Believers are gonna believe and unbelievers are not gonna believe and the Bible bears that out What greater prophet could there have been than the Lord Jesus Christ? And yet in his day most did not believe on him as the Son of God Well You might conclude it this way seeking Isaiah Was seeking God's Word and that's what Hezekiah did and today We benefit from Hezekiah sending his men To seek the Word of God from Isaiah because we get we have written down what happened and what was said Now let's learn something about Isaiah here since he's mentioned in our text He wasn't just the closest prophet to them or the most popular prophet in Judah Although he was well respected In fact in Isaiah chapter 1 in verse 1 We see that he had a particular assignment God assigned him a Particular place in a ministry It says the vision of Isaiah the son of Amos which he saw concerning Judah in Jerusalem. So first of all, he was a prophet to Judah and its capital Jerusalem In the days of Uzziah Jotham a has and Hezekiah kings of Judah so God specifically appointed Isaiah as Judah's prophet during the reign of four kings That was his assignment He wasn't put here just to wander the earth and whoever would seek to know something from him He would give it out or he wasn't set hit down here to decide which mission field he wanted to go to God put him down here and gave him a vision concerning Judah not us not somebody else Judah During four Kings reign Jeremiah had five kings that he was here for That's why it took us so long. Nilda too many kings So when Judah would seek the Lord's will They were seeking Isaiah the one whom God gave the vision about Judah that would make sense They had a prophet for their time and that prophet would tell them the same thing That Jeremiah would tell them and the same thing Samuel told them before And So we may as well learn this or reinforce it although prophets come and go in the Bible The Word of God they speak stays the same It comes but it never goes away Never goes out of fashion Do you know who the first prophet was? I wonder if anybody knows who the first prophet was This will surprise you Luke chapter 11 verses 49 through 51 Amazing you would find about the first prophet. Who is it Abigail? Oh I thought you you did that I thought you might know it's okay. Yes Abel is the first prophet listen to this Luke 11 49 through 51 therefore also said the wisdom of God I will send them prophets and apostles and some of them they shall slay and persecute That all that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation from the blood of Abel Unto the blood of Zacharias Which perished between the altar and the temple? Verily I say unto you it shall be required of this generation Yes, Abel was the first prophet the Bible says so Now you may ask well What about that period of 400 years? Between the Old Testament and the New Testament who was their prophet? All right, I'm gonna tell you you may not know this Their prophets were Abel Abraham Moses Samuel Elijah Isaiah Jeremiah and so on no those prophets weren't alive during those 400 years But the words they spoke were Every one of those prophets had lived before that 400 year period of what's called Intertestamental silence that just means between the Old and the New Testament. We don't have Scripture we have a lot of history you can learn from and what the Catholic Church has done is Taken the books written about that time and called them Scripture. Well, they're not there's some disagreements between those books called the Apocrypha that's what the Apocrypha is is the collection of writings and by the way for the King James only ist enthusiasts the 111 King James Version has the Apocrypha in it. Well, that'll make their head spin won't it? Well, we don't recognize that is Scripture that Apocrypha But nevertheless you ask who were the prophets during those times? That's a long time to go without a prophet It was the ones I told you and even more than that You had Micah you had Hosea you know all the ones who lived before that time and None of those prophets Contradicted each other not one Their words were from the Lord and they never pass away Matthew 24 verse 35 got a lot of scripture for you to write down this morning Matthew 24 verse 35 Jesus said heaven and earth shall pass away But my words shall not pass away So heaven and earth shall pass away and who lives on this earth people Plants animals fish so forth Prophets pass away They die a Prophet is born the prophet dies another one's born and another one dies But if their prophecies also pass away now Jesus said My word shall never pass away and if the words that he gave to the prophets Never pass away. That means that even when the prophets die what they said doesn't pass away. It's still cool It's still just as good as it was when the prophets spoke it on this earth But if the prophecies passed away when the prophet did then the next prophet would have to come up with some new prophecies wouldn't he? You might have his own But the prophecies weren't theirs in the first place they were the Lord's and that's why they're in agreement The prophets were just messengers for the people They were just carrying a basket with bread in it just like we do up here and handing out what God handed them Said here you go Here's the word of the Lord thus saith the Lord the word of the Lord that came to Isaiah the son of Amos That's how all of those prophets spoke the Lord has said The Lord hath done this and hath done that You don't have a prophet in there saying well I'm of the personal opinion that this is what you ought to do. Yeah, the Lord has said So those words never change So even though the men of Judah Sought Isaiah who lived among them as a prophet? Isaiah was going to give them the same principles that Abel and Samuel Elisha and all the other prophets would have given Had has a chi lived in those days the only difference between Isaiah's prophecy and the prophecy of some of the other prophets is That Isaiah would also give specific instructions about Judah's earthly enemy at that time The Assyrians being one of them it would be specific to that time in history Let's just camp out here for a minute I Want to show you how important this is That we believe that the words spoken by the prophets Were the same they never contradicted each other Decision magazine Cited a Gallup poll Gallup is a polling company and they're pretty famous and they do all kinds of polls But they cited a Gallup poll that reported the following statistics among evangelicals It said quote according to the random telephone survey of 1007 American adults Taken from May the 2nd through May the 22nd and this is in 2022 by the way only 40% of those identifying as evangelical Hold the entire Bible as the actual Word of God That means 60% don't believe this that say they're in evangelicals 60% of those people don't believe this is the Word of God 51% consider only parts of the Bible as the inspired Word of God 50% of the Self-identifying evangelicals Stated the Bible was quote an ancient book of fables legends history and moral precepts recorded by a man in quote Now I'm gonna tell you I'm having a hard time With the word evangelical ever being used to describe someone who doesn't believe the Bible is the Word of God all the way through What what is an evangelist that's someone who shares the good news? What's an evangelical that's somebody who believes in that good news? What good news do you have to share if you don't believe the Bible is the Word of God through and through? You don't yeah bad news to share don't you? I don't know what you'd call that but it's not an evangelical Now do you know what those people are doing? people just like that Who are saying well, I don't believe that part of the Bible and this part over here Or I don't believe any of it or I believe a little bit of it What they're doing is they're looking for another prophet They're looking for a new and fresh prophet. Now. These are religious people They're looking for a new and fresh prophet who tells them what they want to hear and Just like the Christians who lived during that inter-testamental Period between the Old and New Testament some of them well into that 400 year period just like they were This world has not had a prophet From God for about 2,000 years Not a one we haven't had an Isaiah or a Jeremiah or a Daniel living among us But for that inter-testamental Christian or for the Christian today, we don't need another prophet We have God's Word written down by the prophets and the Apostles and Even if God did send another prophet, do you know what he would do that prophet would? Point at this right here. That's what we're doing We prophesy not to foretell the future but to forth tell it to forth tell what has happened in God's Word what God's Word says We're not prophets we don't call ourselves prophets Yet there are people who do there are so-called pastors who call they like to call themselves prophets And all you got to do is be wrong one time and you show me you're not God's prophet. Never one of them have been wrong Multiple times they're wrong calling themselves prophets in the first place But we have God's Word written down by the Apostles and prophets and from cover to cover The Bible teaches us who God is who we are Sends penalty the way of redemption the judgment that is to come and many other things how to live the Christian life in between all that and What we need is to believe What's written by the prophets of old? Rather than looking for a new word from the false prophets of today like so many people Have done and let me tell you they're slick They are they can get get the hook in your mouth before you realize what even happened And drag you away Who did God tell us to hear? That's the question. Who did he say to hear? When Jesus was transfigured in Matthew chapter 17 He had Peter and James and John with him and There were also appearing at that Mount of Transfiguration the prophets Moses and Elijah Now they were dead in the flesh. They died Thousands of years before that or hundreds of years before that But they appeared at this place Now listen to verses four and five from that chapters Matthew 17 verses four through five Then answered Peter and said unto Jesus Lord It is good for us to be here now. He should have just been quiet after that but he said if thou wilt let us make here three tabernacles one for thee and one for Moses and one for Elias which is Elijah and while he yet spake Peter had no sooner opened his mouth Behold a bright cloud overshadowed them and behold a voice out of the cloud Now this is the voice of God Which said this is my beloved son in whom I am well, please hear ye him and boy You can underline circle highlight and boldface the word him Because that is the emphasis Peter said well, we have these prophets here. We have Elijah and Moses and yes, Jesus We have you and we're just gonna make a tabernacle to honor everybody Well, that wasn't God's plan who was there two prophets and three apostles But none of those prophets or apostles Were on center stage at the Mount of Transfiguration Who was the feature guest? It was the Lord Jesus Christ it was the Lord Jesus Christ and Peter wanted to honor Moses and Elijah and Jesus at the same time God instead said That's my son here ye him Now after all who gave those words that Moses wrote and spoke and Elijah wrote and spoke Jesus did what does it matter if those two are there or not? Even if Jesus had been alone at the Mount of Transfiguration without the appearance of Moses and Elijah Hear ye him. They weren't missing out on anything by Moses and Elijah not being there, but God put them there Now I believe for this purpose To show Peter hey don't get carried away With Moses worship or with Elijah worship after all these were sinners who died in the flesh and needed to be Resurrected or needed to be saved by the grace of God and they will be resurrected just like you and me one day They're not to be worshipped, but their words are And those words came from Jesus. He's the only one you need to listen to So to the extent that a man teaches what God's word says listen to him. That's a good takeaway You say well, I don't have to do what my pastor says. I just go straight to the Bible Well, if your pastor is teaching the Bible He's teaching it, right? Which is the only way to teach the Bible then you ought to do what he says because he's teaching the Bible Now if your pastor goes off on a rail somewhere and you say wow, I don't see that in the Bible That sounds like an a personal opinion. Well, then either ignore it or accept it but don't ignore the pastor don't ignore the prophet don't ignore the apostle when they're teaching God's Word and Also, never forget whose word it is. It's why God said hear ye him and it was Jesus the Word of God who later became flesh and dwelt among men. That's who was there But when Moses prophesied in his day or Elijah prophesied in his day. It was all the same as if the Lord himself were doing the speaking in fact when Moses or Elijah or Samuel or Micah or any of the other prophets spoke That wasn't a second rate version of God's Word It wasn't to be put on the shelf just because Jesus himself wasn't physically present saying those words Those words were to be obeyed just as if Jesus were standing there himself so if I read to you thou shalt not commit adultery and You came away and said well, I don't have to do what Andy says. I've got my own set of values Hey, I'm not the one who wrote that I'm just telling you what God wrote And By the same token if I tell you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved If I tell you you put your trust in Jesus for salvation and you come away and go Well, I think there's a better way. There's an easier way or it can't be that easy Well, I didn't tell you what my opinion was. I told just told you what God said in fact The words of the prophets were so important They were so relevant that Abraham Directed a certain man to listen To those words from the prophets. In fact, he directed more than one person you may be familiar with the passage in Luke chapter 16 about the rich man and then the beggar named Lazarus and they both died and Lazarus went to Abraham's bosom. He went to heaven. He went to be with the Lord and The rich man died and the Bible said in hell. He lift up his eyes being in torment. So that's the scene and The rich man in hell wanted Abraham to send Lazarus now Lazarus is already dead and He's in his bosom, but he still wanted him to send Lazarus the beggar who went to heaven To testify to his brothers to the rich man's brothers about the awful place where the rich man was Now listen to Abraham's response in Luke chapter 16 verses 29 through 31 Luke 16 verses 29 through 31 Abraham saith unto him that is under this rich man They have Moses and the prophets let them hear them Who did he refer him to he said hey your brothers have Moses and the prophets Now why wouldn't he say they have Moses or? Micah or Samuel or? Hosea Because they all said the same thing He said they had Moses and the prophets let them hear them so that means if this man took Abraham's advice or If it not this man, but if his family this man's remaining family his brothers took Abraham's advice Then they would go and read what Moses wrote they would go and read what Isaiah wrote and Jeremiah and so forth and They would see that Moses and the prophets all said the same thing and they all pointed to the same one Who would come and save his people from their sins? But listen to this man's objection and he said nay father Abraham in other words no They won't listen if we tell them to read the prophets and read Moses They need somebody to rise from the dead Lazarus body needs to get back up and go and Tell these people and then they'll believe it in other words. They need a sight miracle. They need to see something and Abraham said If they hear not Moses and the prophets neither will they be persuaded though one rose from the dead He said if they're not going to listen to what Moses and the prophets said they're not going to listen if Lazarus goes and tells Them after he comes he raises from the dead Just like they didn't believe Jesus When he rose from the dead the unbelievers did not Now two things are true here Number one what Moses and the prophets taught was good enough for a person to be saved If there was something missing and this is for these people and I know some Campbellites who say Well, that was Old Testament. The New Testament is different That's one of the ways they say you don't need you can't have musical instruments in the church We say well the psalmist did they had all kinds of instruments. Well, that was Old Testament. This is a New Testament church It's exactly what they do I've had them do it on their doorstep when I tried to witness to them back in the days when we used to go door knocking They don't know what to do with this right here you have Five men who are lost by this man in hell's own testimony His own testimony is my brothers are lost. They're gonna come here somebody. Please go tell them so they don't come here and Abraham Said they have Moses and the prophets let them hear then he didn't say hey listen They've got Moses in the prophets, but that's Old Testament. That's from back in my day They need to wait and see what the New Testament says Well by then it'd be too late, wouldn't it they die and go to hell if they had to wait for the New Testament To be completed before they could be saved Friends the Bible goes together and Abraham showed us that right here they have Moses in the prophets and if they won't listen to them They're not going to be persuaded though one rose from the dead So one thing that we see is true is what Moses and the prophets taught was good enough for a person to believe and be saved and the second thing if A person won't believe what Moses and the prophets wrote Then he won't believe what Jesus said and he certainly won't believe a pastor or a teacher today You know we're not trying to come up with a softer more accepting gospel here We reject that We're not trying to come up with a more hardcore gospel. We reject that too We reject the liberal interpretation. We reject the legalist interpretation We're here to preach the words of Moses and Isaiah and John Which are all the words of Jesus? Which are all the words of God? Hezekiah knew that what the prophet said Was sent from God when he sent these men You like him and Shabna and Joah To Isaiah he didn't say now listen Isaiah kind of cuts up sometimes, but tell him look this is serious We need for you to talk to us about what the Lord really said no joking around He knew that wasn't gonna happen. He said you go see Isaiah I'm in here in the Lord's house you go see Isaiah and here's what you're gonna tell him and we'll see that here in just a little bit maybe next week and What God said to Isaiah was just as good as what he said to Samuel Moses and Abraham before him and Isaiah knew this Was Judah's only hope to believe those words and those principles That had been given to Isaiah and every prophet before him And oh that people would understand and believe that God's Word never changes. It sounds like such a simple concept, doesn't it? Malachi chapter 3 verse 6 Malachi chapter 3 verse 6 God said for I am the Lord I change not Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed the sons of Jacob would have been consumed if the Lord changed He said I'm the Lord I change not the writer of Psalm chapter 119 which is the longest chapter in the Bible Psalm chapter 119 not sure if it was David or not. It's not real clear to me but that writer also believed in the perpetuity that is the unchanging character of God's Word and It regardless of who that prophet was he was a prophet of God now listen as I read verses 89 through 91 This is Psalm 119 verses 89 through 91 Forever Oh Lord thy word is settled in heaven. That means it stands Thy faithfulness is unto all generations Now what if God changed his word from one generation to the next from one group of people to the next boy We'd be in a mess wouldn't we trying to figure out now? Wait a minute Just like the legislature meets every two years and they'll repeal an old law or change one or add a new one It's hard to keep up But God doesn't do that his faith thy faithfulness is unto all generations thou has established the earth and it abideth They continue this day According to thine ordinances for all of thy servants God's Word is for every generation That's what it says right here in the Bible God's Word is for every generation He's the same and never changes So his word is the same and never changes I Don't know how much plainer that psalm can make it And this is the word Hezekiah is seeking the word of God that was good enough For every generation before him and the word that will be good enough for every generation after him including ours Wouldn't that be something if? Evangelicals believe that today. Hey don't get caught up telling people. Yeah I'm an evangelical like all these others who say they are if you really are one Then you believe the Bible is God's Word in that it never changes and that he never changes Now let's look in verse 3 We'll just dip our toe in the water here in verse 3 and I know we'll have to come back next week for it So that way you can reserve your parking space for next week one week ahead of time. Okay? Verse 3 back in our text and they said unto him Now this is the three men of Judah speaking to Isaiah. They said unto him thus saith Hezekiah This day is a day of trouble and of rebuke and blasphemy For the children are come to the birth and there is not enough strength to bring forth Now that is a meaty verse right there And we won't be able to finish it not even close today, but there are three words These men used to describe This day now don't get carried away by the phrase this day. It can mean a 24-hour day It can also mean a period of time. We all have probably said this Back in the day or back in my day or back in the day when my parents live Well, my parents are still alive. Praise the Lord, but back in their day. That was a long time ago, and it was a long time so this day or this time Doesn't always mean a 24-hour day. Now. Let's take those three words separately first of all. It's a day of trouble Now the word trouble means distress Now why was Judah in trouble in the first place? Well, God said they would be and He told their forefathers Why they would be in trouble and here it is you want to know how God knew they were going to be in trouble He said this is going to happen Deuteronomy 31 verses 16 through 17 Deuteronomy 31 16 through 17 God spoke to Moses and Said this here's the verse and the Lord said unto Moses Behold thou shalt sleep with thy fathers That means he's going to die and this people will rise up and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land Whether they go to be among them and will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day and I will forsake them and I will hide my face from them and they shall be devoured and many evils and troubles Same word shall befall them So that they will say in that day are not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us Now although God was telling Moses That every generation after him was going to do these things and suffer the consequences the principle here is that Every generation who does these things will suffer the consequences whether it was before Moses time or since then You've heard it said perhaps that Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result Well rebellion is doing the same wicked thing over and over again and expecting no consequence Why would Judah in Israel now separate countries Think they could escape punishment When their forefathers could not That's What happens when somebody thinks that God has changed his mind about his word? Those troubles that befell Judah Happen for the same reason that Troubles befell Israel and now the United States and every other country on this earth The second word used to describe this day was Rebuke it was a day of trouble. It was a day of rebuke Which is also that rebuke is also translated as reproof or punishment or correction now those last two We might use more commonly Other similar words, so this was a day of punishment for Judah these men told Isaiah This is a day of punishment And they were right Deuteronomy 28 15 Once again, God said he predicted their rebuke But it shall come to pass if thou wilt not harken unto the voice of the Lord thy God To observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day That all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee Now if you skip down to verse 20 this Deuteronomy 28 20 now in that chapter It says the Lord shall send upon the cursing vexation and rebuke In all that thou set us thy hand unto for to do until thou be destroyed and Until thou perish quickly because of the wickedness of thy doings Wherefore excuse me whereby thou has forsaken me God's punishment his rebuke is not a light punishment he told Israel he would rebuke them in everything they set their hand to do until they were destroyed and perished because of their wickedness Now this is what Jesus endured for us on the cross by the way you want to know how bad it was When our sin was placed upon him He took the full wrath of God The wrath that would have destroyed us just like he would destroy those unbelievers in Israel that wrath that would have destroyed us Jesus took that so we could be saved So this was a day of rebuking next week. We'll come back and continue the study of verse 3. Let's pray Father you've been so good to teach us today thank you for your word which is constant and abiding and faithful and For your spirit who gives gifts to men helps us to teach calmly gives the assurance of your word to the believer and I pray that Lord we just accept that not be so troubled about all the things going around us and even in our own lives and Realize Lord that this is all temporary and Lord we just thank you for the people who are interested enough to come and to tune in and Some of whom have to listen later on because of one reason or another Thank you for their attention to your word in Jesus name. Amen
